Apple released iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7 in mid-September and has already updated them once. But unfortunately there is no solution for missing GPS and other health data or problems with battery life. Now Apple has published a new support document.
In various online forums, including ours, complain iPhone and Apple Watch users are complaining about problems with GPS data. This means that it was not recorded and saved during an activity. Although not every user is affected in the same way, the problem seems to occur on every Apple Watch model. In addition, some users have noticed problems with battery life. Both iPhone and Apple Watch devices are said to be draining faster. Neither iOS 14.0.1 nor watchOS 7.0.1 have solved the problems. However, there are users who were able to solve the whole thing by re-pairing. Apple now seems to have reviewed this solution and approved it. In a new support document, the company lists the following problems:
This time a software update is not the solution
- Your workout records are missing from the Fitness app on iPhone for previous GPS-enabled workouts from your Apple Watch.
- The Activity, Heart Rate, or other health-related apps can't launch or load data on your Apple Watch.
- The Fitness app or Health app cannot be launched or data loaded on your iPhone.
- The Health or Fitness app reports inaccurate data storage on your iPhone.
- The Activity app reports an inaccurate amount of data storage on your Apple Watch.
- Data about your ambient noise levels or headphone audio levels from Apple Watch is missing from the Health app on iPhone.
- Increased battery drain on your iPhone or Apple Watch.
If one or more of the problems mentioned above occur, Apple recommends unpairing the Apple Watch from the iPhone and backing it up. The user should then also back up the iPhone and restore both devices from the backup. It seems that this time the solution is not a software update but users have to take matters into their own hands - but it helps. (Photo by raditya / Bigstockphoto)
