With iOS 13, a number of useful functions are being introduced to iPhones and other devices. Some of the features are particularly important for some of us. Anonymous calls - everyone knows this annoying issue. Whether ex-partners, strangers or robocalls - anonymous and spam calls are and will remain annoying. There is now a solution in iOS 13 and this is how it works.
Spam and other unwanted calls have become a real nuisance in recent years. Fortunately, Apple has integrated a new feature in iOS 13 that allows users to automatically suppress unknown and spam calls on the iPhone. The long-awaited “Mute unknown callers” feature is implemented in iOS 13 or newer with the help of “Siri Intelligence”. This is intended to help iPhone users in general against spam calls - third-party solutions will therefore no longer be necessary in the future. If “Siri Intelligence” is activated, different types of calls can be filtered. Siri uses this to compare the incoming phone number with the contacts, messages and emails - if the number is known there, the call is put through. All other calls, including anonymous ones, are automatically forwarded to voicemail. The number of robocalls has also increased massively in recent years - the new feature should gain even more popularity.
How to enable “Mute Unknown Callers” on your iPhone under iOS 13
To activate the feature, you first need to open the "Settings" app on your iPhone. Then navigate to the "Phone" menu item. Now you can activate the "Mute unknown callers" command further down. The feature will most likely significantly improve the overall user experience for many iPhone users and hopefully provide more peace and quiet.
How to block individual phone numbers on your iPhone
iPhone users can of course also block individual phone numbers directly - to do this, click on the small "i" symbol next to the respective number in the call list. The caller can then be blocked further down. (Photo by Unsplash)
