The accessories manufacturer Pitaka added two new products to its range in August - the Pitaka MagEZ Stand and MagEZ 2 Case for the iPad Pro 2021 series. After taking a closer look at the new setup, I would like to share my experience with you below.
So much in advance: The stylish table stand, which is designed to hold the iPad Pro securely, also includes a wireless iPhone charger. The ultra-thin case attaches magnetically to the stand, but can also be used with the Apple Magic Keyboard. Let's get started.
Pitaka MagEZ Stand in Test
The design of the MagEZ Stand is a beautiful combination of high-tech and elegance. It doesn't exude old-fashioned charm, but it fits well with the look of the iPad. Especially if you have a space gray tablet. In addition, the stand the iPad is almost at eye level, which could be an interesting aspect for many. At least the viewing angle is more comfortable. In addition, the stand allows the iPad to be used in both portrait and landscape format. Of course, it can also be tilted forwards and backwards. So the Pitaka MagEZ Stand gives the user the choice.
wireless charger
The base of the MagEZ Stand contains an inductive charger. This means you can charge your iPhone, AirPods or something similar wirelessly if necessary. The inductive charger supplies Apple devices with up to 7.5 watts of power, while some Android devices receive up to 15W of charging power. The MagEZ Stand also comes with a corresponding USB-C charging cable, but there is no power adapter included. Pitaka is therefore following the widespread power adapter policy that can now be observed at various companies.

Can the magnets really hold a 12.9″ iPad Pro?
Let's talk about the magnetic hold. There are two options for connecting an iPad to the MagEZ Stand. It comes with a 3.9-by-3.9-inch metal sticker that you can attach to the back of your tablet. This sticks firmly to the stand and you can stick it to any tablet you want. The alternative is the MagEZ 2 Case, which is currently available for the fifth generation iPad Pro range. According to Pitaka, cases for other iPad models will follow. Since I have the corresponding MagEZ Case, my review is of course based on the case.

Whether I'm working, gaming, watching a series or something similar, the iPad Pro stays firmly in place. Since the 12.9-inch model isn't very light, you can be a bit skeptical about the magnets. But Pitaka seems to have solved the whole thing pretty solidly. As I said, it doesn't matter whether I turn or tilt the iPad. The magnetic connection is strong enough that the device can't slip off, and that brings us to the new case.
Pitaka MagEZ 2 Case in review
This version of the MagEZ Case is also ultra-thin and light, although it is equipped with 12 strong magnets. As you would expect from Pitaka, the Covering solid protection. The MagEZ 2 Case covers the back, three edges and two corners and protects the device from scratches and bumps.

It is made of black plastic, with the back having a diagonal pattern. There are openings for the speakers, cameras, microphones and more. However, the MagEZ 2 case does not cover all four sides of the iPad, as it was designed for use with the Apple Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard, cool right? This means that users who equip their iPad with the Pitaka MagEZ 2 case can still use Apple's high-quality Magic Keyboard or Smart Keyboard without worry.

What's more, it also offers additional protection against scratches on the frame, especially when closed.

Prices and availability
The thin design of the case makes this possible. Since it is also very light, the whole thing is not even weightless. Whatever. The product not only looks good, but also protects the iPad to a large extent and is compatible with other accessories. Pitaka is currently charging 74.99 euros for the MagEZ 2 case, while the MagEZ stand was positioned at 95.99 euros. As explained above, it is only compatible with the fifth generation of the iPad Pro. According to the company, versions for older iPad models will also be available later.

Current MagEZ cases that are available for iPads do not have the corresponding magnets, which is why they are not compatible with the stand. Unless you use the metal sticker instead. It is not known when updated cases for other iPad models will be released. Pitaka was not able to give me a specific date for this. But I will of course keep you updated. So if you are interested in the products, you can find both in our Amazon Storefront listed in the Pitaka section.
