After we took a closer look at the Anker 623 Magnetic Wireless Charger last week, today we're taking a look at the brand new magnetic power bank with stand - a further development of the well-known PowerCore Magnetic 5K power bank.
The 622 Magnetic Battery Powerbank is also part of Anker’s MagGo series and is an improved version the well-known Magnetic 5K - or rather, the successor. But what is the power bank that is specifically aimed at iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 users good for? As a reminder: Anker recently introduced a series of new charging products aimed at Apple's iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series. There are stationary charging stations as well as products for on the go. One of them is the 622 Magnetic Battery Power Bank.

Anker magnetic power bank with stand: More freedom on the go
Anker has equipped the 5000 mAh battery with an integrated stand that can be easily folded out. This means that the power bank is magnetically attached to the back of an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 model, which is charged with an output power of 7.5W.

Thanks to the stand, the device can be set up very easily. This means you can watch a video or make a FaceTime call while it is charging.

But the power bank is available at a price of 59,99 Euro really worth the money? Here are the technical data at a glance:
- PROP IT UP: Equipped with a built-in stand holder that keeps your iPhone 12 / 13 upright and in a comfortable position.
- STRONG & SAFE: Simply hold the smartphone on the charging surface and the magnetic attraction ensures that the device automatically clicks into place and is ideally positioned.
- SMART & SLIM: The minimalist design with only 12.8mm depth is perfect for video calls, selfies and more!
- SMALL, SMALLER, MagGo: Anker's exclusive Mini Cell technology makes the overall size of the battery even more compact without affecting efficiency and charging performance.
- WHAT YOU GET: An Anker 622 Magnetic Power Bank (MagGo), a 62cm USB-C to USB-C charging cable and a user manual.
Of course, I have compared the product with its predecessor and Apple's Battery Pack compared.

Compared to the Magnetic 5K, the new model is only slightly longer but just as thick. So there should be nothing to speak against it in terms of size. Although it is aimed at iPhone models with MagSafe, it can of course also charge other devices like a normal Qi charging station, including AirPods. The big difference here, however, is the integrated stand, not the charging power - that remains the same.

This one is quite thin but sturdy because it is equipped with a magnet. This means that your iPhone will not simply fall over - quite the opposite. An iPhone 13 Pro Max - which is inherently larger and heavier - held up without any problems.

If you are on the go a lot and like to set up your device for FaceTime etc., you should be happy with this new power bank. The feature can be considered a reason to buy with a clear conscience. If you already own the Magnetic 5K and can do without a stand, you don't need the new version. As a reminder: The standless version currently costs 45.99 euros.
Anker 622 Magnetic Battery: My Conclusion
Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves whether the stand is worth the extra money. Personally, I certainly won't use the feature all the time - but knowing that I have this handy option is definitely reassuring. By the way, like all other MagGo products, the power bank is of course available in four different colors, including white, black, blue and lavender. A USB-C cable is also included. In my opinion, you can hardly go wrong with the product if you want something smart as a charging backup for on the go. Incidentally, the MagSafe component works with all iPhone cases that are MagSafe compatible. That means both Apple's cases and the MagSafe case from Nomad, Pitaka and more. Have you decided?
