The video platform YouTube seems to be working on a new feature. Rumor has it that it will be a channels function.
A new report by The Information According to reports, YouTube is working on a new offering. The popular video platform could get a channels option similar to Apple TV Channels and Amazon Channels. The business model of individual subscriptions involves offering a number of channels with different topics and making them accessible for a monthly basic fee. This allows users to choose between different channels and only pay for content that actually interests them.
addition to Youtube TV
Apple introduced the Apple TV Channels option back in March 2019. The services available include CBS All Access, Starz, Showtime, Comedy Central Now, HBO, and others. According to the latest report, YouTube appears to be in talks with several entertainment companies. However, it is not known how far these have progressed. Such a channels offering would be a good addition to YouTube TV and would significantly enhance the service and give users more choice. However, it would also have advantages for the company. According to the report, offering individual subscriptions could help YouTube improve profit margins on YouTube TV. The latter costs around $50 per month and offers live and on-demand cable access.
