Apple has officially confirmed the date for WWDC 2025: The developer conference begins on June 9. As every year, Apple will present new software versions at the keynote – this time the focus is primarily on iOS 19. The released WWDC logo already provides initial clues as to how the upcoming iOS might look.
If you're interested in Apple software or develop your own software, WWDC is the most important event every year. The event provides a preview of upcoming system versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and more. Particularly exciting in 2025 is the new design of iOS 19. Several sources speak of a comprehensive redesign heavily influenced by visionOS—the operating system Apple developed for the Vision Pro headset. This year's WWDC logo seems to hint at precisely this new style.
What the logo reveals about iOS 19
At the center of this year's logo is the number 25 – semi-transparent, softly rounded, and strongly reminiscent of design elements from visionOS. This design is characterized by a high degree of transparency, soft shadows, and an almost floating look. iOS 19 is set to follow this same direction. According to several reports, the reference to visionOS is no coincidence, but rather a deliberate step toward a more consistent design across all Apple platforms.
iOS 19 should appear more transparent and modern
Insiders say iOS 19 will be significantly more transparent. Menus and buttons are expected to have a glass-like appearance, similar to visionOS. This design line is expected to be introduced not only on the iPhone, but also in iPadOS 19 and macOS 16 – bringing the entire Apple ecosystem closer together visually. The goal appears to be to make user interfaces more consistent and modern across devices.
Front Page Tech shows new camera app
Back in January, the YouTube channel Front Page Tech showed an alleged rendering of the redesigned camera app, which is said to be based on iOS 19. Host Jon Prosser explained that the camera app will also be redesigned. He said it will feature transparent buttons, a cleaner interface, and a larger viewfinder. The new layout is said to appear cleaner and more airy overall—a step away from the previous, rather dense layout.

Design changes affect the entire system
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also released details at the beginning of March. He predicts that the new design won't be limited to individual apps. Instead, many areas of iOS 19 will be affected, including system apps, notifications, and likely the lock screen and Control Center. Gurman calls it the biggest design change since iOS 7—which, after all, was the update that finally replaced the classic skeuomorphism design.
Official launch on June 9
Apple will officially unveil iOS 19 during its WWDC 2025 keynote on June 9th. Then it will become clear how comprehensive the design changes truly are. One thing is already certain: Apple is planning a new look with iOS 19, heavily influenced by the look of visionOS. And this year's WWDC logo was likely the first small taste of what's to come.
