Fans of the iMac have been eagerly awaiting a redesign for years. Now the wait might actually be over.
If you believe the leaker Sonny Dickson, Apple will introduce a brand new iMac at WWDC 2020. But the new desktop computer is not only supposed to get a major update on the inside. The housing design of the iMac was last revised in 2012. Now Apple is said to have an iMac in the pipeline that has a slim frame and is reminiscent of the Apple Pro Display XDR. At the same time, the design is based on the current iPad Pro. It is also said that the device will be released with Apple's T2 security chip and a pure SSD configuration.
Will Intel’s “Comet Lake” chips be used?
According to Dickson, the completely redesigned model will receive graphics processors from AMD's Navi family, which was introduced last year. However, rumors about an upcoming update are not new. The leaker CoinX already announced an update in March. At that time, however, he did not reveal any details about the equipment. In the processor area, Intel's new featured “Comet Lake” chips are used. It remains unclear whether Apple will update both models at the same time, as some previous reports have caused confusion. It was claimed that the 23″ device would not receive an update until autumn. You can find out more about WWDC 2020 read here. (Photo by Ruslan Ivantsov / Bigstockphoto)
