Rumors are currently rife about the new MacBook Air, which is due to be released in 2022. In addition to reports about the features, there is also a lot of speculation about the design. Now there are new renderings that show the device with a notch.
Apple is expected to unveil the 2022 MacBook Air with new chips and a new design, after previously undergoing a major update to the Pro range. Following a series of new rumors, existing renders have now been updated. The latest images, created by RendersByIan and shared by leaker Jon Prosser via his website FrontPageTech published show that the thin and light MacBook Air will continue the aesthetic of the MacBook Pro.

But unlike its predecessor, it will not have a wedge shape but will be evenly thick from back to front. On one side there is a MagSafe 3 connector and a Thunderbolt 4 port, on the other side there is a Thunderbolt 4 and a headphone jack.

MacBook Air 2022: Biggest update in history
The keyboard has full-size function keys while the display is surrounded by a white frame. In addition, the screen has a small cutout, more precisely the infamous notch.

Just like the display frame, the notch has also been colored white. Will that appeal to everyone? Of course, that remains to be seen. As far as the features go, it is currently suspected that the device will be equipped with the new M2 chip and will use mini-LED backlighting. However, it will not have ProMotion technology like the Pro models do. As for the new notch camera, it is expected that it will finally be switched to 1080p. If the rumors actually turn out to be true, it will be the biggest update in the Air series since the original launch in 2010. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
