The fact that a new iPad Pro with Face ID will be released has already been suspected and underlined by numerous rumors and leaks.
Specifically, 12.9” and 10.5” devices are to be released. Both will for the first time dispense with Touch ID and be equipped with Face ID. Although the device will only have a very narrow edge, there will be no notch for the TrueDepth camera. This is made possible by the new LCD of the upcoming iPad Pro model. In addition, facial recognition should also work in landscape format.
Apple submits registration for new devices
Apple recently registered several new iPads and a Bluetooth device in China. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has now published the applications submitted. The model numbers are A1876, A1980 and A1993.
Due to the random number sequence, it is difficult to draw any conclusions about the devices. The Bluetooth device could be a revised Apple Pencil. According to recent rumors, the second generation of the stylus will not be able to be connected via the Lightning port, but will be similar to the AirPods.
Apple registered new models with the EEC several months ago (Eurasian Economic Commission). The latest registration can therefore be seen as a clear indication of the imminent introduction of new iPad models. An invitation to the next Apple event is expected in the next few days.
