According to some reports, Apple is planning to introduce new over-ear headphones this year. But they are not Beats. Now a model called Apple AirPods (X Generation) has appeared.
The rumor that Apple wants to introduce completely new high-end headphones has been around for over two years. The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also confirmed such a model. The launch is still in the first half of 2020 planned. Now an image has appeared on Twitter that points to a headphone model called Apple AirPods (X Generation). The tweet was sent by YouTuber Jon Prosser. According to him, he was informed by "Target" employees about an update in the inventory system. You can see an entry with the name Apple AirPods (X Generation) for around 399 US dollars. However, the inventory system lists three different SKUs, which suggests a total of three color variants.
"Placeholders are common"
But the new headphone model will not be called Apple AirPods (X Generation). The name is probably just a placeholder. At the request of AppleInsider Target employees have explained that placeholders for new products are common. While the price information is usually correct, the product names are only entered correctly when the product is released. It remains to be seen whether the whole thing is real. It is also not yet known how the model might differ from Beats products. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
