Just in time for the end of the year, well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed new information regarding the upcoming iPad Pro and MacBook Pro 16″.
The well-informed and accurate TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out in a new note to investors. He now claims to have received an update on Apple's plans for the upcoming iPad Pro and a new MacBook Pro 16". According to this, both devices are to be released with mini-LEDs next year. The plan is to convert more devices to mini-LEDs over the next few years - but the fourth generation iPad Pro and the successor to the MacBook Pro 16" will start at the end of next year. According to this, the release of the iPad Pro 4 is not planned for spring 2020 as previously believed, but rather for fall 2020. According to Kuo's forecast, the new iPad Pro will have an A14X processor. However, he did not provide any further details. The new MacBook Pro with a 16-inch screen diagonal, on the other hand, will be updated in the fourth quarter of 2020. So far, the analyst has predicted a switch to mini-LED technology at the end of 2020 or the beginning of 2021.
More products will follow in the next few years
According to the TFI Securities analyst, Apple plans to equip four to six more products with mini-LEDs. The changeover is expected to take place in the next two to three years. It is generally expected that Apple's introduction of mini-LEDs will accelerate the overall development of the mini-LED industry. Kuo once again emphasized that the new display technology based on mini-LEDs will enable thinner and lighter products while offering many of the same advantages of OLED screens - including wide color gamut, high contrast and dynamic range, and true black. Whether he is right about the time frame stated remains to be seen. (Photo by porover / Bigstockphoto)
