Rumors surrounding the future of the Apple TV and HomePod have been documented many times. Now there is a new report claiming that Apple is working on an Apple TV model that has a built-in HomePod speaker and a FaceTime camera.
A few weeks ago it was already claimed that Apple was working on new HomePod models with integrated camera and display worksNow Bloomberg has published a new article referring to a brand new Apple TV device. In the report is called it:
Apple TV with integrated HomePod: Everything is still open
Apple is working on a product that would combine an Apple TV set-top box with a HomePod speaker, offering a camera for video conferencing through a connected TV and other smart home features. The device's other capabilities would include standard Apple TV box features like watching videos and playing games, as well as smart speaker applications like playing music and using Apple's digital assistant Siri.
Apple officially stopped selling the classic HomePod model a month ago. Since then, there has been speculation about whether Apple will ever introduce a high-end speaker again. Is an all-in-one device coming? Interestingly, the company already merged the development teams for HomePod and Apple TV last year, which suggests that a device that combines both products will appear at some point. According to today's report, however, development of the product is still in its early stages. This means that the project could be scrapped at any time or appear in a different form. Accordingly, the future of HomePod and Apple TV is sure to remain exciting. (Photo by Unsplash / Kelly Sikkema)
