The topic of new AirPods Pro has been covered several times in recent days by the Taiwanese news site DigiTimes. Now there is new information about an AirPods Pro update.
The controversial DigiTimes has already twice published a new AirPods model – AirPods Pro Lite – mentioned. Now the Taiwanese news publication has published another article on the subject. According to it, Apple is planning an update to the AirPods Pro – this is supposed to be a kind of entry-level version of the Pro series. This is what the preview of the paid article says:
USI likely to enter AirPods Pro supply chain, sources say Taiwan-based Universal Scientific Industrial (USI), a unit of ASE Technology, is likely to receive system-in-package (SiP) orders for the upcoming AirPods Pro, industry sources said.
AirPods Pro without noise cancellation?
It is suspected that the so-called Pro-Lite model is meant again - the full article will be released for an additional charge. But let's be honest - AirPods Pro Lite? Sounds contradictory. Whatever. No concrete specifications have been given so far. But it is now suspected that Apple could update the classic AirPods or introduce AirPods in the design of the Pros, which will not have the ANC feature - noise cancellation. The preview also claims that due to the coronavirus epidemic, production of these new AirPods will probably not start before the end of the second quarter of 2020. Although DigiTimes does have connections to Apple suppliers, the hit rate is still modest. As long as no other sources "confirm" such an AirPods model, the rumor should generally be viewed with skepticism. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
