Apple will most likely present the next MacBook Pro generation on Monday evening. Shortly before the event, rumors surfaced that the devices would have the iPhone notch. Now there are more details.
Since yesterday claimedthat the new MacBook Pro models will have a notch. However, this will not have Face ID but will contain the FaceTime camera, a microphone and an ambient light sensor for True Tone. This would allow for a thinner display frame. Now it is claimed that the MacBook Air, which is due to be released in 2022, will also have such a design. In an older forum post, which was about the new MacBook Pro models, leaker Ty98 said that the next generation MacBook Air will have the same notch that Apple is introducing for the MacBook Pro.
With Notch: New MacBook Air Design Should “Look Much Better”
He also stated that the MacBook Air will "look a lot better" as Apple plans to do away with the current wedge design. The MacBook Air has long had a design that gets thicker from the back and thinner at the front. The leaker claims that the next MacBook Air will have a "very round and light" chassis. Other MacBook Air rumors have indeed suggested that Apple is developing a thinner and lighter version of the device with narrower bezels than the current model. Additionally, it is expected to have a 13-inch mini-LED display, multiple color options, and an updated version of the M1 chip. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
