Rumors that Apple plans to introduce two brand new MacBook Pro models this year have been circulating for months. Now there are more details.
For several months now, it has been claimed that Apple will introduce two brand new MacBook Pro models in the second half of 2021. The devices are said to be 16- and 14-inch in size and will have a new design. Now the well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out again (via MacRumors). According to current information, the devices will be equipped with an HDMI port and SD card reader. In addition, the classic MagSafe charging port is set to return. Kuo explains:
We expect Apple's two new MacBook Pro models in 2H21 to have several significant design and specification changes. Some of the practical changes for users include the addition of an SD card reader and an HDMI port.
MacBook Pro 2021: The fate of the Touch Bar
While the devices could get several different ports again, the Touch Bar is supposedly history. Last month it was reported that Apple would remove the touch-sensitive bar in the next MacBook generation and replace it with classic buttons - similar to the current MacBook Air. These significant changes are to be made based on customer feedback. What will become of the USB-C ports remains unclear at the moment. The new devices will probably be presented in October or November of this year. (Photo by blackzheep / Bigstockphot)
