Where is the MacBook Pro with a 16-inch display diagonal? According to earlier reports, the launch was planned for the end of October - but Apple is now said to have changed its plans.
The main innovation in the 16" MacBook Pro will not be the larger display but a new keyboard technology. According to some rumors, the new keyboard is said to have been developed on the basis of scissor switches - i.e. with a real pressure mechanism like in previous years. Despite the old technology, the design of the upcoming keyboard is said to be completely new - Apple also wants to increase the durability of the keys. Fiberglass will supposedly be used for this. The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has already emphasized this several times. Reliable sources such as Kuo and Bloomberg were also certain about a launch date in October - but Apple seems to have changed its plan.
Reason for delay unknown
Now the well-known TF International Securities analyst has spoken out again. According to him, he has now learned that the Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron will be the main supplier for the new keyboard - but from 2020. According to Kuo, Apple has now postponed the launch date to 2020 - but the reason for this delay is not known.
The new plan calls for a presentation in the second or third quarter of 2020, according to the analyst. Specifically, the presentation of the new MacBook Pro 16″ at WWDC 2020 (Worldwide Developer Conference) or at a later date via press release would be conceivable. (Photo by PixieMe / Bigstockphoto)
