Apple's display supplier Samsung is in the early stages of preparing its production line for OLED displays that will be used in future models of the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, The Elec reports.
The report states that Samsung Display has begun developing a new production process for OLED displays, which will reportedly be used by Apple for future OLED MacBooks and iPads. DigiTimes previously reported that Apple is expected to introduce a 16- to 17-inch MacBook Pro with an OLED display in 2022. Rumors also suggest that Apple plans to introduce a 10.9-inch iPad and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with OLED displays in the same year.
MacBook & iPad 2022 display technology: reports contradict each other
However, the company only introduced a new iPad Pro with a mini-LED display this year and will most likely unveil two new MacBook Pro devices with this same screen technology in the fall. Interestingly, rumors have so far suggested that Apple wants to equip the MacBook series with mini-LED technology. When it came to OLED, various sources referred to future iPad models. Accordingly, today's report should be viewed with some skepticism. (Photo by Natee Meepian / Bigstockphoto)
