The September keynote is over - the new iPhones are out - what's next? Possibly an October event? Apple usually holds another fall keynote to introduce new iPad Pro and Mac models. Now the first real leak about the iPad Pro 2019 is said to have surfaced.
If Apple follows the pattern from previous years, we can look forward to another media event in October. The distinctive iPhone square could be the highlight. A few weeks ago, a particularly interesting rumor surfaced - the new iPad Pro will get the same triple camera as the iPhone 11 Pro. Can that really be true? According to a new leak, yes! The recently published image shows the back of the iPad Pro 2019 - the hotly debated camera is shown in a square design. But this is a little different from its iPhone counterpart. As you can see, the three lenses and the flash have been arranged differently. But where does the image come from? The Apple mockup was published by the well-known Apple leaker Sonny Dickson and is said to show an unfinished prototype. He assures that he received the image from a trustworthy source. Given his reputation in this area, it can be assumed that this is not a fake - even if this version of the square looks really strange.
Or will it be a 3D camera?
According to current speculation, another Apple event will take place next month - Dickson also believes that it will be presented in October, while other sources are predicting a presentation in spring 2020. Until now, some have assumed that Apple will install a 3D camera based on Time-of-Flight technology in the upcoming iPad Pro.
In principle, the ToF technology is similar to the infrared TrueDepth camera system that can be found on the front of the iPhone today and enables facial recognition. Adding a 3D sensor system to the rear camera would make detailed 3D photo capture possible. This could also open up new augmented reality possibilities. Whether the upcoming iPad Pro will appear with a triple camera - known from the iPhone 11 Pro - or a completely new technology remains pure speculation for now.
