Yesterday, new images were published showing a prototype of the upcoming iPhone - for the second time. Today, the OnLeaks platform has provided further details about the cameras, ports and battery.
Last week, the Indian technology magazine Digit, together with OnLeaks and Marques Brownlee, published several images of the upcoming iPhone on Twitter. According to OnLeaks, this is a prototype of the iPhone XI. Yesterday, the same source gave details of another design from Apple. Here, too, renderings were created by OnLeaks in collaboration with CompareRaja. Now, further details on the individual components have been published.
Selfies are getting better
According to the leak, the iPhone XI will have a 10 megapixel front camera. Apple is also planning to completely rework the TrueDepth module, according to the source. With the help of a new technology the notch could actually be made smaller - as can be seen in the pictures of the second prototype. Whether this will be the case this year is not yet 100 percent certain - according to the informant.
The triple camera is said to be equipped with two 14 megapixel lenses. The third lens could have 10 megapixels. However, this is not certain either.
Triple camera replaces battery
According to the information, something will also change inside the iPhone. Due to the new camera, the internals will have to be repositioned. In future, the battery will no longer be L-shaped but square. In addition, the battery will no longer be located next to the main board but directly under it. This is the only way to install the new camera - according to the source.
Is USB-C coming or is Lightning staying?
There have also been increasing rumors on this topic in the past that Apple is planning to make the change this year.
The informants contradict current reports. All prototypes have so far been manufactured with a Lightning connector. This could of course change in the coming months. The elimination of the Lightning port is therefore not yet certain.
