It seems almost certain that the iPhone SE successor will be released in spring 2020.
The well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out again about the iPhone SE 2. According to his latest information, the iPhone SE successor will go into mass production in January. Accordingly, the presentation is still expected in spring 2020. The iPhone SE 2 will be available from just 399 US dollars. The device will be available in three colors (space gray, silver & red) and two storage variants (64 GB & 128 GB). Inside, the current A13 chip will work with 3 GB of RAM - there will be no 3D Touch. According to Kuo, the new entry-level iPhone will appear in the design of the iPhone 8. This could be a problem for some iPhone SE fans, as the device is larger with a 4.7-inch display diagonal. However, the analyst has a different theory.
He believes that Apple primarily wants to appeal to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S owners with this device and encourage them to upgrade. Kuo believes that these customers are less interested in Face ID and large cameras. Accordingly, the iPhone SE successor is an attractive alternative with Touch ID and a camera lens.
Displays from LG?
In addition to the above-mentioned innovations, the antenna design of the new entry-level device is also to be improved - according to the analyst. This is actually a liquid crystal polymer antenna design. This could ensure significantly better wireless transmission. However, the display manufacturer has not yet been decided. According to industry sources, the decision could fall on LG. However, a quality control test is still necessary. Everything we know so far about the iPhone SE 2 can be found in our Summary read it.
