The successor to the iPhone SE is due to be released in early 2020. That is at least what the rumor mill says. Now analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken out again.
The well-known TFI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo gave his forecast for the iPhone SE 2 in a new note to investors. According to this, Kuo believes that Apple will ship around 20 million devices in 2020 - those who are particularly optimistic could even expect 30 million iPhone SE 2 models to be sold in 2020. His forecast is based on expectations from various suppliers.
The new iPhone 8
According to Kuo, Apple will use a 10-layer substrate-like printed circuit board (SLP) for its motherboard in the new iPhone SE successor. However, cheaper components will be used than in the iPhone 11 generation - according to the analyst. While many have hoped for a small 4-inch device, it has already been emphasized several times that the new iPhone SE 2 will be based on the design of the iPhone 8. Accordingly, the no longer so smart entry-level iPhone will have a 4.7-inch screen. The expected starting price is around 400 US dollars.
