"Who wants a stylus? You have to get em and put em away and you lose them, yuck. Nobody wants a stylus." Those were the words of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2007. About eight years later, Phil Schiller introduced the Apple Pencil.
If it had been up to Steve Jobs, there would have been no such thing as a stylus. But in 2015, the Apple Pencil was introduced - it is still very popular today. But it is not going to stop there. Jobs' nightmare is supposedly coming true. The iPhone 11 comes with Apple Pencil support - at least that is what analysts at Citi Research are claiming. They believe that Apple will introduce the iPhone 11 with Apple Pencil functionality. Where the information comes from was not communicated. The bank normally deals with the figures of various companies and does not make forecasts about products or functions - therefore the statement cannot be classified, as Citi has no references in this area.
Patents confirm Apple's interest
Rumors about such a feature are by no means new - the iPhone XS series and older generations were also said to have the function. However, Apple has not yet introduced it. Numerous patents, however, confirm Apple's interest in such a feature. At the moment, Citi Research is the only one making this claim - whether other sources support the forecast remains to be seen.
