The rumors about the upcoming iPhone 11 just don't stop. New leaks from different sources appear almost every day. They all have one thing in common: The iPhone 11 comes with a triple camera in a square - according to the reports.
After new pictures of the iPhone XR 2 appeared yesterday, today we continue with the iPhone 11. But first let's summarize what the rumor mill has told us so far. The iPhone 11 was first announced in January by OnLeaks based on insider sources. Over the last few months, more and more voices have been heard saying that Apple wants to give this year's iPhone generation a comprehensive camera update. All three iPhone 2019 models (successors to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR) are said to get an updated front and rear camera. Rumour has it that the front lens will be 12 megapixels. The iPhone XR 2 is said to be equipped with a dual camera in a square format - see articleThe two top models will be launched with a triple camera for the first time – the revised camera module will be housed in a square design.
Square – practical – good?
The square in question always causes heated discussions – we remember the time when the iPhone X notch was being discussed. 😉 But be it – in addition to new cameras, the upcoming iPhones are supposed to be able to support bilateral wireless charging. This means that users of a 2019 model can wirelessly charge accessories such as the AirPods or the Apple Watch on the back of their iPhone – more about it hereApple will also reportedly do away with the lame 5-watt power supply for the first time and use a 18-watt fast charging cable USB-C to Lightning included. So much for the current status.
Large square recess visible
Now new renderings of supposed iPhone 11 cases have appeared on OnLeaks and Slashleaks. The images are said to show case designs for the iPhone 11 with 5.8" and the iPhone 11 Max with 6.5". The images show a large square cutout in the top left - this can be seen as further confirmation of the triple camera, provided the designs are real. The third lens is said to be an ultra-wide-angle lens with 12 megapixels from Sony. The presentation of the new iPhone line-up will most likely take place in September.
