After star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo spoke one last time about the upcoming iPhone 2019 series Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has now spoken out.
In a few hours, Apple will introduce a new generation of iPhones and the Apple Watch - but what exactly will the models be called? Gurman now wants to know for sure. There were previously reports that the three devices would be known as the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. But according to Gurman's information, the two flagships will only be called the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max - similar to the iPad Pro series. Apparently, this is the first time that Apple is planning to no longer apply the numbering scheme to all iPhone models. Gurman also writes that Apple may be planning to introduce the new entry-level iPad - the iPad 7 with a 9.7-inch display. It will be available for around 329 US dollars.
No bilateral wireless charging?
Star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed tonight that the new iPhone series may be released without the new feature. It was originally considered to be the main innovation alongside the triple camera, but it may have been left out at the last minute. The reason for this is said to be "charging efficiency" - this may not meet Apple's requirements - wrote Kuo.
The feature was actually supposed to allow charging of accessories on the back of the iPhone 11 - a larger battery is a prerequisite for this. Gurman also believes that the function will not be included in this year's iPhone lineup. We'll show you how you can follow the Apple event here. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
