The iPhone XR is currently available in six different colors - if current rumors are to be believed, this will also be the case with the iPhone XR 2 in the fall, with only two of the colors being replaced by new options.
The Japanese Apple Blog Macotakara recently reported on a change in the color selection of the iPhone XR 2. According to this, the new entry-level iPhone will be available in white, black, yellow, (Product)RED, green and lavender. The two new colors are to replace coral and blue. Now the well-known Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has reported back via Twitter. In his post, he published a picture that, according to him, shows housing parts of the iPhone XR 2 series in the two new colors. Gurman left the question of where the picture came from unanswered. Observers believe that these could be parts of a test production.
It remains to be seen whether Apple is planning to change or expand the color selection for the iPhone 11. It is conceivable that the new premium iPhones will come with the same color options as the current XS series.
New charging function and a major camera update
The new iPhone line-up, consisting of the successor to the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, is expected in mid-September. The two premium models are to be equipped with a triple camera for the first time. The iPhone XR 2 is also to enter the ring with a dual camera. According to rumors, all three iPhone models will also undergo an update to the front camera - this will be given 12 megapixels. In addition to the camera upgrade, the new iPhone 2019 line-up is to support bilateral wireless charging. This means that users of an iPhone 2019 model can wirelessly charge accessories such as the AirPods or the Apple Watch on the back of their iPhone - third-party accessories should also be able to benefit from this feature.
