Rumors about the so-called iPhone 15 Ultra are entering the next round. This time the focus is on the front camera and the port.
On Sunday, the first rumors about a new iPhone model loud: The iPhone 14 Pro Max will be followed by the iPhone 15 Ultra in 2023. Following the example of the Apple Watch Ultra and the M1 Ultra, the new model should theoretically offer an even higher quality experience than the iPhone 14 Pro. However, Sunday's claim was accompanied by few details about the hardware, such as the use of USB-C and a revised design. Now leaker MajinBu has provided a few more possible details. According to the source According to MajinBu, the iPhone 15 Ultra will have two cameras on the front. The existing TrueDepth camera array has multiple components but only one camera sensor, so the alleged Ultra upgrade will offer an additional sensor.
iPhone 15 Ultra: Rumors should be treated with caution
The reason for the second camera was not given. In theory, it could be used for stereoscopic video recording or simply for different levels of optical zoom. The leaker also claims that the iPhone 15 Ultra will use USB-C and launch with a 256GB storage capacity. The iPhone 15 Pro will, as usual, only use a front-facing camera and launch with a 128GB storage capacity. However, this model will apparently also get USB-C. Even though Apple's design and manufacturing efforts for its flagship devices can stretch for over a year, such rumors are usually more speculation than reality at this extremely early stage. More leaks should emerge throughout the year that will shed light on whether MajinBu's claim is accurate or not. (Photo by Unsplash / James Yarema)
