We have already read several rumors about the iPhone 15 series. Now the Taiwanese market research company TrendForce has spoken out and published a few details.
In a new report TrendForce points out that the iPhone 15 range will again consist of four models and that only the two Pro models will receive the latest Apple processor, as was the case with the iPhone 14 range. The Pro models will be equipped with the A17 Bionic chip while the standard models will rely on the A16. TrendForce predicts that the iPhone 15 Pro models will come with 8GB of RAM to complement the A17 chip, compared to 6GB on the iPhone 14 Pro models. The standard models will likely continue to have 6GB of memory.
iPhone 15 Pro Max could get telephoto lens with periscope functionality
In addition, all four models are now expected to switch from Lightning to USB-C. According to TrendForce, the Pro models will likely have an improved main lens with an "8P" design for better performance. In line with previous reports, the market research firm expects the iPhone 15 Pro Max to have a telephoto lens with periscope functionality that allows for 10x optical zoom or more, instead of just 3x as before. TrendForce expects the iPhone 15 models to continue to come with a Qualcomm modem for 5G, as Apple is not yet satisfied with the mmWave performance of its in-house modem. The market research firm believes Apple will launch its own 5G modem in 2024. (Photo by Unsplash / Omar Al-Ghosson)
