Rumors are mounting that Apple will replace all of the iPhone 15 Pro's physical buttons with solid-state buttons, including a single, redesigned volume control instead of two buttons.
Back in October 2022, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claimed that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will switch from mechanical buttons to solid-state buttons. However, he did not comment on whether the buttons would be redesigned. Now, CAD drawings and renders for the phones have allegedly leaked, discovered by people trying to create mockups create. Some of them say that the designs clearly show that the regular two volume buttons will be replaced by a single long button.

iPhone 15 Pro could do without two buttons for volume control
This would be a throwback to the very first iPhones, where volume control was done via a single rocker button. It would also potentially make the iPhone 15 Pro water and dust resistant, as the volume button requires a much smaller hole in the frame to work. The new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected in September 2023. They are believed to feature curved titanium sides and an EU-compliant USB-C charging port.
