An alleged image of the iPhone 15's right side case was shared online today, showing a cutout for the side button and a black or "Midnight" finish.
The image, shared by Twitter user @lipilipsi divided reportedly shows multiple cases for one of the iPhone 15 models. The cutout for the side button matches renders of the iPhone 15 Pro, which is expected to feature solid-state buttons with haptic feedback. But this is the first time it has been seen in real-world images. It is unclear whether the image shows a regular iPhone 15 or an iPhone 15 Pro. The case appears to be anodized black or "Midnight" and has a matte finish, which would indicate a regular iPhone 15 model, as opposed to the brushed titanium finish of the iPhone 15 Pro.

iPhone 15: Could the chassis also show an older model?
On the other hand, only the "Pro" models are expected to come with solid-state buttons this year. It's likely that the image actually shows a standard iPhone 15 and the cutout is for a mechanical button, as the two standard iPhone models aren't expected to get haptic buttons this year. Leaker ShrimpApplePro has hinted that the case could be a modification for an older iPhone model, so the image should be taken with a grain of salt for now. (Photo by dimanikin / Bigstockphoto)
