According to a new report, some models of Apple's upcoming iPhone 14 series could feature larger screens and new satellite features. However, there will definitely no longer be a "mini" variant.
The iPhone 14 is expected to launch this fall. According to recent rumors, the iPhone 14 Pro models could switch to A16 chips while the base models of the iPhone 14 could work with an improved version of Apple's A15. Now reported 9to5Mac reported that a source confirmed the different chips in the "iPhone 14." The report also contained new details about the upcoming smartphones.
iPhone 14 could support satellite communications
For example, Apple will reportedly ditch the 5.4-inch "mini" model in favor of two 6.1-inch versions and two 6.7-inch variants. The new devices will have the same display resolution as their iPhone 13 predecessors. However, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max could have a slightly larger screen due to the pill shape and punch-hole design. Previous rumors suggested that the new notch replacement will come first to the Pro models in 2022. Other sources have told 9to5Mac that Apple is working on satellite communication features. However, it's unclear whether these features - codenamed "Stewie" - will be ready in time for the fall 2022 lineup. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
