Rumors about the iPhone 14 series are now regularly documented. In recent weeks, however, there have been increasing reports about the display of the Pro models. Will Apple equip the iPhone 14 Pro with a hole-punch display?
According to the Korean website According to The Elec, next year's iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature punch-hole LTPO OLED displays from Samsung and LG. The rumors that the 2022 iPhone models will not have a notch were first documented in March of this year, when Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said they will have a hole-punch design instead. This design has been used on some Android devices for years. The hole-punch design is a centrally placed cutout for the front camera that allows for a larger display area instead of a notch.

iPhone 14 Pro (Max) to be released without a notch
Kuo assumes that at least the two iPhone 14 Pro models will have the hole-punch design. Other sources have since supported Kuo's statement and stated that the two cheaper devices will have the well-known notch. According to the latest report, Samsung, Apple's main supplier of OLED panels, will manufacture all the hole punch panels for the 6.1-inch Pro model, while LG will manufacture the panels for the 6.5-inch Pro Max device. Whether this will actually be the case in the end remains to be seen, of course. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
