Apple will most likely present the iPhone 14 series on September 7th. Now, allegedly leaked images of the devices are increasingly appearing. The latest shots also come from Asia. It is claimed that the iPhone 14 Pro models could be available in five colors.
The images of the iPhone 14 Pro dummy models were first published today on Weibo divided and show similar color options such as gold, graphite, and silver from past years. Two other color options seen in the image would be new to the current iPhone Pro lineup: a dark purple and a blue. A separate, heavily cropped image that also surfaced today appears to show the iPhone 14 Pro models in the same color palette. It's also noticeable that the antenna bands on the gold and purple models stand out from the frame, as they are white, unlike iPhones from past years. It remains unclear whether the items in the second image are real iPhone 14 Pro models or simply dummies, although the latter is more likely given the amount of iPhone 14 Pro dummies now in circulation.

Some Apple products are already available in purple
Earlier this year, there was an interesting rumor on Weibo that said that both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro will be available in a new shade of purple. It was claimed that the color option, likely for the iPhone 14 Pro, is a unique finish that changes the hue depending on the lighting conditions. A purple color option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro seems plausible, as Apple already introduced the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in purple in April last year, which received a positive response from customers. The 24-inch iMac, sixth-generation iPad mini, and fifth-generation iPad Air are also available in purple.

iPhone 14 series: On September 7th we will have certainty
It's not clear if the unique purple finish is actively intended to have a new effect that changes depending on lighting conditions, or if it simply leverages the technology behind the iPhone 13 Pro's Sierra Blue, which is more different in appearance than the other color options. That's because Apple has introduced a new production process exclusively for Sierra Blue that "applies multiple layers of nanometer-scale metallic ceramic to the surface to create a stunning and durable finish." Still, since most of this information comes from unverified social media users in China, it should be viewed with a certain level of skepticism.
