After an increasing number of rumors about the iPhone 14 series have surfaced in recent weeks, the rumors continue today. Now it is claimed that another storage option could be added next year.
With the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple has added a new storage option, one terabyte. The new option is largely due to new camera features, such as ProRes for video, that will be introduced later this year. ProRes videos, in addition to the 4K 60FPS videos shot with the iPhone, consume significantly more storage space than regular recordings. Apple is marketing the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max as the ultimate tool for videographers and camera operators.
iPhone 14 could get QLC flash memory
The 1TB option is aimed at exactly this target group. But what about the 2022 lineup? Now the Chinese website MyDrivers that Apple plans to add a 2TB option to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The rumor, which should be viewed with a large dose of skepticism, says that Apple will use QLC flash storage in the next iPhone and increase the capacity to 2TB thanks to the newer storage technology. Interestingly, DigiTimes has already claimed that even more storage could be added with the iPhone 14. The news site did not give any details, however. Of course, it can be assumed that Apple will offer a 2TB option at some point. Whether that will be the case next year, however, remains to be seen. (Image: Jon Prosser x Rendersbyan)
