According to a new report, Apple suppliers have started shipping components for the iPhone 14, which is scheduled to launch in September as usual.
The new DigiTimes report likely refers to components that will be shipped to manufacturers like Foxconn in the next few months for the final assembly of the iPhone 14 models. The report states:
According to industry sources, suppliers have already started deliveries for the next generation of iPhone, which is scheduled to hit the market in September.
According to rumors, there will be big changes, especially in the iPhone 14 Pro models: The notch is said to be replaced by a new pill-shaped cutout and a hole for the Face ID sensors and the front camera. The new Pro models are also said to be equipped with a faster A16 chip and an improved 48-megapixel rear camera with support for 8K video recording, while the standard iPhone 14 models are said to keep the A15 chip and a 12-megapixel lens. Another key feature of the iPhone 14 Pro models is said to be an always-on display that works with the new lock screen widgets of iOS 16.
iPhone 14: No mini model expected
The full lineup is expected to consist of the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, while the 5.4-inch mini model will be discontinued. Improvements to the standard iPhone 14 models could include more RAM, an improved front camera with autofocus, and support for WiFi 6E. Last year, all four iPhone 13 models were announced on September 14, were available for pre-order from September 17, and launched in Germany and more than 30 other countries on September 24. High-end iPhones have been announced every September for over a decade, with the exception of 2020, when the iPhone 12 range was unveiled in October, likely due to pandemic-related delays.
