According to a new report, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8 on September 7th.
The September iPhone event will kick off a busy fall 2022 product season. New iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, several Macs, updated iPads, and a trio of new Apple Watch devices are expected by the end of the year. As it has done during the pandemic, Apple plans to stream the media event online rather than holding it live and in person, reported Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the matter. Plans may still change by September. But Apple usually plans to introduce new iPhone models in the first half of the month. An earlier report from early August said that Apple employees were already filming the next product launch. Apple is expected to make incremental changes to its product lineup with the two iPhone 14 models. The 5.4-inch iPhone 14 mini is expected to be replaced by a 6.7-inch model.
iPhone 14 Apple Event: In addition to hardware, software is also expected
Rumor has it that the new iPhone 14 models will retain the A15 chipset and display notch and mostly include minor updates. Bigger changes are planned for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which will ditch the sensor notch in favor of hole- and pill-shaped cutouts. The higher-end iPhones are also said to have an A16 chipset, significantly improved cameras, and an always-on display. As for the Apple Watch models - which the company usually unveils alongside the iPhones - Apple is planning a trio of Apple Watch Series 8 wearables with additional health features for women and a body temperature sensor. A new "rugged" version of the Apple Watch could have a larger display, a more robust case, and longer battery life. Apple will also likely release iOS 16 and other software updates sometime after the September keynote. (Image: Apple)
