Apple will officially present the iPhone 12 series in the next few weeks. Reports suggest a staggered sales launch. But what could this actually look like?
The iPhone 12 series will consist of four devices in three different sizes, including a 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and a 6.7-inch iPhone. In recent weeks, there has been much speculation that the cheaper iPhone 12 devices (5.4- and 6.1-inch) could launch in October, while the Pro versions (6.1- and 6.7-inch) will appear in November. But there have also been rumors that Apple will put the two 6.1-inch models on the shelves first, before the smallest and largest iPhone follow. Now the Taiwanese news site DigiTimes has commented on this. There are said to have been delays in the course of development. The small 5.4-inch and the large 6.7-inch iPhone 12 were affected. This is what the report:
iPhone 12 show on October 12th?
The new iPhone lineup could arrive in two phases, with two 6.1-inch models in the first and two more 6.7- and 5.4-inch devices in the second. The sources noted that shipments of SLP motherboards for the 6.1-inch models started in July and those for the 6.7- and 5.4-inch models in the second half of August.
As already mentioned, this statement is not new. However, it contradicts recent reports from Bloomberg. In the meantime, leaker Jon Prosser has already announced an iPhone event for October 12th. The new devices will be presented as part of a virtual keynote. An invitation or announcement of the eagerly awaited online event could come as early as this week. In addition to new iPhones, the Apple Watch Series 6 will probably also be unveiled. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now. (Photo by dominiquejames / Bigstockphoto)
