Last year, Apple included a new 18-watt power adapter with the introduction of the iPhone 11 Pro models. Now images have surfaced showing a completely new adapter.
The anonymous Twitter user Mr. White published pictures today showing a new charging adapter. It is a 20-watt power supply that is supposed to be intended for the iPhone 12. There is currently speculation as to whether the new accessory will be reserved for the Pro line, if the whole thing is even true. Currently, the iPhone 11 is delivered with the 5-watt weak charger, while the iPhone 11 Pro models have the 18-watt power supply. The iPhone 12 series is expected to include a total of four devices, two of which will be iPhone 11 successors and the other two will cover the Pro line.
Get rid of the EarPods and get better power supplies
According to this, it is possible that Apple will give all four devices the new charger. Alternatively, the two cheaper iPhone 12 devices (5.4 and 6.1 inches) could get the 18-watt charger and the iPhone 12 Pro models (6.1 and 6.7 inches) the brand new 20-watt adapter. Since Mr. White has not given any concrete information on this, there is of course a lot of room for speculation. According to some reports, Apple will be releasing the EarPods no longer ship with new iPhone devices - this could have a positive effect on the included power adapters. This means that even the cheaper iPhones could get better adapters - let's wait and see. (Photo by Eremin / Bigstockphoto)
