In mid-July, Apple had three new batteries certified that are most likely intended for the iPhone 12 series. The problem - they have less battery capacity than their predecessors. Now there is a new registration.
The discovery caused a lot of discussion. Will Apple give this year's iPhone lineup smaller batteries? Possibly! But contrary to expectations, at least one of the two 6.1-inch devices could get a more powerful battery - namely the iPhone 12 Pro. As always, the certification was carried out by MySmartPrice discovered and thus documented first. According to the data sheet, the new battery has 2,815 mAh and could be intended for the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro. As a reminder: The first find looked like this:
“Battery capacity is not everything”
- Apple iPhone 12 (5.4-inch) – model number A2471 – 2,227mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch) – Model number A2431 – 2,775mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) – Model number A2431 – 2,775mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) – Model number A2466 – 3,687mAh
Since there will be some differences between the iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro, it is also quite possible that the Pro version will get a larger battery. So far, there are no battery reports from well-known analysts or leakers that already have a high degree of accuracy have. So we have no choice but to speculate. But please remember one thing: Battery capacity is not everything. If an iPhone works efficiently, a solid battery life can be achieved even with a smaller battery.
