We have already read the questions “Will the iPhone 12 have a ProMotion display?” and “How big will the 5.4-inch model actually be?” several times. Now a well-known analyst has commented on the matter.
The well-known and accurate Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published a new analysis (via MacRumors), which offers further details regarding the iPhone 12 series and new iPad models. According to this, he claims to have learned that the Pro versions of the next iPhone generation will not have a ProMotion display. The reason for this is the battery life. Kuo believes that Apple will not introduce the technology until next year, as the iPhone 2021 series will have so-called LTPO displays. These require significantly less battery life, which is why the integration of a higher refresh rate of 120Hz would only make sense then. In addition, he also found out interesting details about the 5.4-inch model. The device is said to have an overall smaller notch so that information such as signal strength and time can still be displayed. However, the two 6.1-inch and the 6.7-inch iPhone are said to have the same notch that was already installed in the previous generations.
“Time Flies” event: Kuo’s prediction rules out iPhone 12
In view of the upcoming Apple keynote, Kuo also commented on this. According to his sources, the event will focus on the new Apple Watch Series 6 and the iPad Air 4. The new Apple Watch will adopt the design of its predecessor but will receive an important feature - blood oxygen monitoring. He emphasized that a new design is not expected until the second half of 2021 at the earliest. Accordingly, the Apple Watch Series 7 could undergo a redesign. However, he did not give any concrete details. Finally, Kuo also confirmed that the iPad Air 4 will be released without a home button and will have Touch ID in the standby switch. Next year, the feature will be adopted on other iPad models - Kuo. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – available now. (Image: svetapple.sk)
