A new analysis covered the topic of Face ID in the iPhone 12 series. The Lightning port was also mentioned.
Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis, Thomas O'Malley and Baylie Harri have released a new statement on the upcoming iPhone lineup. They believe that the iPhone 12 models will receive a revised TrueDepth system, which will lead to an improved Face ID. However, they did not provide any specific details - so it remains unclear what exactly the revision might look like. They also confirmed some details about the equipment that have been circulating for some time. The Pro models will appear with a triple camera that has a 3D sensor based on time-of-flight technology. They will also offer 6 GB of RAM - a forecast that was only recently confirmed by a UBS analysts shared became.
iPhone 2021 with new connector
But the topic of the Lightning port was not left out either - a topic that is discussed anew every year. The Barclays analysts believe that Apple will finally replace the Lightning port on at least one iPhone model with a USB-C port in 2021 - this statement is in line with an earlier forecast by Ming-Chi Kuo. As a result, something would of course change in the scope of delivery - if Apple does indeed replace the connector, the wired EarPods will no longer be available in conjunction with the iPhone. Whether the forecast will come true in this form remains to be seen, of course, as always. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
