The reports surrounding a delay in the launch of the iPhone 12 are certainly nothing new. While there was wild speculation a few weeks ago, a clear trend is now emerging.
Following previous reports, the Wall Street Journal Information that mass production of the iPhone 12 will be delayed by about a month. This means that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not see a market launch of the new iPhone generation in September as usual, but in October at the earliest. According to other sources, a staggered launch of the four iPhone 12 devices cannot be ruled out. Some believe that the high-end model could debut in November, similar to the iPhone X in 2017.
Presentation in September, market launch in October/November
Apple will introduce four different iPhone 12 models this year, including a 5.4-inch device, two 6.1-inch iPhones and the high-end model with a whopping 6.7-inch display diagonal. While the 6.7-inch and a 6.1-inch model will be the successors to the iPhone 11 Pro, the other two variants will be the successors to the iPhone 11. There will reportedly be differences in the equipment. In addition to a new design, a number of new features are expected, including 5G. It is currently unclear whether Apple will hold the iPhone show in September as usual.
