A new report provides further details about the size and design of the upcoming iPhone 12 generation – and makes a very interesting claim.
The Japanese Apple Blog Macotakara claims to have received new information from suppliers about the next iPhone lineup. According to them, the new product range will retain the same housing design as the iPhone 11. The only distinguishing features are the camera technologies - according to Macotakara. The report is remarkable because the Japanese blog is so far the only source that has not confirmed a redesign of the iPhone 2020 series. So far, there have been reports from all corners about a new design in the iPhone 4 style - making the new report all the more interesting.
iPhone 12: Thinner and lighter
Macotoakra also claims to have learned that the 5.4-inch model will be between the iPhone SE and iPhone 8 in size, while the 6.1-inch iPhone will take up space between today's iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max. According to the source, the flagship - 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max - will be a little taller than the iPhone 11 Pro Max but thinner at the same time. The Japanese Apple blog gives a thickness of 7.4 mm. For comparison: The iPhone 11 Pro Max is about 8.1 mm thick. This change could therefore be due to the new display technology. But there is also supposed to be an innovation on the back. Macotakara claims that the new iPhone 12 Pro Max will have an overall larger camera than its predecessor. This means that the camera module will be delivered with larger sensors.
Report confirms rumors about iPhone 12 features
While the design is supposed to remain unchanged, contradicting earlier rumors, some older information has also been confirmed. Macotakara also believes that the 5.4-inch and a 6.1-inch iPhone will be delivered with a dual camera, while another variant of the 6.1-inch model and of course the 6.7-inch device will have a triple camera with a 3D sensor. It remains to be seen whether Macotakara will be right in the end. The blog has already made some predictions in the past that actually came true. However, Macotakara does not have as high a hit rate as Ming-Chi Kuo or Bloomberg - so it remains exciting. (Photo by Vershinin89 / Bigstockphoto)
