The rumors surrounding the iPhone 12 series have increased significantly in recent days. The focus is on the included accessories. Now there was talk about new camera features.
The Youtuber EverythingApplePro has published a new video and discussed the camera of the iPhone 12 series. Max Weinbach, a well-known leaker, took a closer look at the camera app in the current iOS 14 beta. He found evidence of new camera modes. According to this, the new devices will be able to record videos in 4K at 120 FPS and even 240 FPS. The feature is said to be reserved for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max - according to the Youtuber, citing Weinbach's sources, whom he subsequently contacted. They confirmed internal tests with the new iPhone 12 Pro line. Apple is also planning to revise the camera this year, with the two higher-end models receiving a LiDAR scanner - according to the rumor mill. The module was already unveiled by Apple in the iPad Pro 2020 and described as follows:
The A14 chip plays a major role
The groundbreaking LiDAR scanner enables features never before possible on a mobile device. The LiDAR scanner measures the distance to surrounding objects up to 5 meters away, works both indoors and outdoors, and operates at the photon level at nanosecond speeds.
Of course, it can be assumed that the new module in combination with the A14 chip will offer more advantages than in the iPad Pro. With regard to the two new recording modes, it seems certain that these are dependent on the new heart - the A14 chip. For comparison: Current iPhone models can record 4K videos at 60 FPS while 1080p videos can reach up to 240 FPS. AirPods Pro on special offer at Amazon – now available for 219 euros.
