In three days, Apple will launch the new generation of iPhones and the rumor mill just won't stop churning. This time it's about the position of the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone 11 - it's supposedly getting a new position.
The well-informed Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman claims to have received a last-minute tip. According to his sources, Apple is planning to reposition the logo on the back of the iPhone 11 series. It will be placed in the middle of all three models. The reason for this is the new feature - bilateral wireless charging. This means that users of an iPhone 2019 model can wirelessly charge accessories such as the AirPods or the Apple Watch on the back of their iPhone - third-party accessories should also be able to benefit from this feature. The logo is supposed to be the contact - if the accessory is placed on it, the charging function is activated. Bilateral wireless charging is not new - Apple competitor Samsung already offers the feature in its latest Galaxy smartphone.
Will the “iPhone” branding be removed?
At the end of July, an anonymous Foxconn employee said that the "iPhone" branding would no longer be visible on the back of the iPhone 11 series. At the time, this seemed quite unrealistic, but according to the new Bloomberg report, this rumor could also be true. This is what some observers believe. Based on the two rumors, Ben Geskin has published a new concept of the three iPhone 2019 models - see below.
According to Gurman, the three new Apple smartphones will have a shatter-proof glass on the back. In addition, the water resistance has been improved. Gurman also writes that the iPhone XR will appear in a new green. However, fans of the Apple Watch will be a little disappointed, as the update will be quite minor. Two of the new smartwatch models will appear in a ceramic and titanium case. How to get Apple's upcoming keynote You can find out more in our summary.
