In recent weeks, rumors about the next iPhone generation have taken over – all the more refreshing is new information about upcoming iPad Pro models.
The well-known star analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has now published a new report on the iPad Pro. Unlike the iPhone The iPad Pro will be equipped with a 5G modem much later. According to Kuo's information, Apple is planning to improve the antenna design in 2020. The following year, i.e. 2021, the iPad Pro will be launched with 5G for the first time. In addition, Apple will not present a new professional tablet in 2019 - according to the analyst. The 11" and 12.9" sizes, however, are to remain the same, and there will be no change to the design.
Signal losses are reduced
The most important innovation will be the use of an “LCP Soft Board” – a material known as liquid crystal polymer. As the name suggests, the board is soft and flexible. It can connect components to one another to avoid the limitations of inflexible circuit boards. The use of “LCP Soft Board” is the first step towards 5G modems, as it will make connecting antennas to the motherboard easier – the aim is to reduce signal losses. According to speculation, a company called Murata will supply the LCP components for the construction of the new iPad Pro. It remains to be seen whether Apple will stick to its plans.
