Reports about new iPad Pro models have increased significantly in recent days. The main innovation is said to be the use of mini LEDs. Now there is a new report that the larger device could be thicker.
After yesterday's report about the next generation of the iPad and iPad Pro, the Japanese website Macotakara has published a new article revealing some additional details about the upcoming iPad Pro models. It claims that the updated 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are set to launch in March and that the overall design will remain the same with a few exceptions. Macotakara explained that the 12.9-inch model will be about 0.5mm thicker than the current model. The reason for this is MiniLEDs, which will provide better display performance compared to traditional LCDs.
iPad Pro 2021: Will the camera and speakers be redesigned?
The 11-inch model, however, is not expected to be any thicker than its predecessor, as the new display technology is only supposedly being integrated into the 12.9-inch device for the time being. This statement is in line with previous reports. It is further claimed that the camera bump will be slightly flattened. Another change is said to be made in the speaker area. The total number of speaker holes on the sides is to be reduced by two thirds and the positions of the speaker holes are to be changed compared to the current models.
