If rumors are to be believed, Apple plans to introduce the iPad Air 5 in 2022. Now there are reports that Apple has backed out on the display choice.
In March, well-known Apple analyst Min-Chi Kuo claimed that Apple has an iPad Air with an OLED display in the pipeline for next year. Now Kuo has spoken out in a new letter to investors and revised his forecast. According to his sources, Apple has changed its own plans for 2022 because the costs and performance do not meet the company's expectations. Nevertheless, Apple wants to stick to the idea of introducing an iPad Air with an OLED display at some point.
iPad series: Apple is exploring new display technologies
Unlike the Air model, Kuo is sticking to his statement regarding the iPad Pro 11″, claiming that Apple will also give the smaller model a mini-LED display next year. Currently, only the large version has such a panel. Kuo also emphasizes that the company is continuing to research and develop newer display technologies for the iPad series.
