There is currently a rumor that Apple could introduce the iPad 9 in early 2021. The small entry-level tablet is expected to receive some new features.
According to the Chinese website cnBeta, Apple plans to unveil an updated ninth-generation iPad in spring 2021. The device will be similar to its predecessor but with a slightly larger display. The iPad 9 will reportedly be 10.5 inches and feature the A13 Bionic chip and 4 GB of RAM. The device will be thinner overall. Contrary to popular belief, however, the report states that the device will not follow the all-new iPad Air. This means it will continue to use Lightning and feature a Home button with Touch ID. It would be possible to achieve a larger 10.5-inch display and a thinner design by reusing the casing and front panel of the third-generation iPad Air. This actually seems plausible, given Apple's tendency to adopt the designs of its iPad models.
iPad 9: Will the iPad Air 3 serve as a basis?
For example, the design of the first generation iPad Air was transferred to the fifth generation iPad, the design of the 10.5-inch iPad Pro to the third generation iPad Air, and the design of the 11-inch iPad Pro to the fourth generation iPad Air. The third generation iPad Air is slightly lighter and thinner than the eighth generation iPad. It has a 10.5-inch display and retains the Lightning port and home button, so it clearly meets the requirements of the ninth generation iPad. Reusing this design would also allow Apple to keep costs low, which is reflected in the selling price. Whether cnBeta will be right in the end remains to be seen, however - after all, the iPad 8 was only recently launched. presented. (Photo by Bambi_CZ / Bigstockphoto)
