The rumors about a new 7th generation iPad and an iPad mini 5 are not abating. According to new information, the entry-level iPad will be delivered in the familiar design.
While Apple updates the iPad Pro models every fall, the entry-level 9.7" iPad has already been refreshed twice in a row in March. Now the Japanese Apple blog Macotakara claims to have learned new details about the 7th generation iPad. According to the blog, the iPad will once again be delivered with a headphone jack and Touch ID - the casing will not differ from its predecessor. Macotakara was unable to find out why Apple has not completely updated the device.
No 10″ display
Initially, a redesign was suspected - the iPad 7 was supposed to have a 10.2" screen. Suppliers are said to have denied the rumor to Macotakara. The well-known Touch ID sensor is also said to remain - in the past it was assumed that this could be integrated under the display. Due to the complex production, Face ID costs more. Therefore, facial recognition is to be reserved for the more expensive iPad Pro models for the time being. The entry-level model is not expected to differ in price from its predecessor. In addition to the iPad 7, a new iPad mini 5 will also be presented - according to Macotakara.
There was already a leak According to this, a keynote will take place at the end of March. Some analysts suspect that this will be a purely software event - new subscription services will be presented. New hardware products will be announced via press release. Other observers believe that Apple will present new devices and subscription services together on this day.
