Rumors about an update to the iMac series have been documented for several months. Now the time has come. Will the design of the 2020 iMac also be updated?
An update to the iMac was originally expected at WWDC 2020 – but in vain. Apple has not introduced any new models. However, indications of an update have increased. Just recently, the anonymous but accurate Twitter account @L0vetodream announcedthat new Apple products are ready to ship. Now another leaker has come forward and claimed that the update will be presented next week.
iMac 2020: Intel version in old design?
Included emphasized @Jioriko that Apple will present the iMac with an Intel processor for the last time and the design will remain unchanged. Rumors that the iMac will appear in the iPad Pro design are said to be true - but not true for the Intel device. Apple will only present the iMac in the brand new design with its own silicon processor. Whether the new ARM model will appear this year remains questionable. At the beginning of the month, a Geekbench Result that revealed the new iMac. The find was an iMac that includes a 10-core Intel Core i9-10910 processor. This appears to be a custom chip designed specifically for Apple.
Will Apple announce the device on Monday?
The results showed that the Core i9-10910 runs at a 3.6 GHz base clock and a 4.7 GHz boost clock. This suggests that it is a higher clocked version of the Core i9-10900 with a 28.6 percent higher base clock. It remains to be seen on which day the product announcement will take place - although in the interim period Monday was mentioned. Since Apple has often announced products in the past via a press release in July, this is not particularly surprising. But anyone waiting for an iMac with a new design will probably have to be patient. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
